METAL-The Alchemist

The alchemist seeks perfection. He makes order from chaos, he molds the environment, builds, organizes, defines, and refines. The alchemist is the keeper of the rules and the standards. He has moral values and defends virtue. He appreciates beauty and surrounds himself with a clean and aesthetically pleasing environment.

Metal can also be considered as mineral or rock. This element is associated with the fall or autumn. A time of harvesting that which has been sown. The yin would be the lungs and the yang would be the large Intestines. They both eliminate toxins and they both bring oxygen to the blood. The large intestine is often called the third lung. This element governs taking in and letting go. The indicator is the skin.

An imbalance to this element might bring stiff muscles, dry skin and hair, sensitivity to climate, self-righteousness, distant, nit picky, inability to adapt and change, and toxicity.

To achieve balance in the metal element you can extract order from chaos by clearing out clutter, doing a colon cleanse, taking in life and letting the little things go, and eating spicy foods.

Spicy Foods

Basil
Cayenne
Peppers
Curry
Garlic
Mint
Onions
Parsley

I LOVE this blog series concept you are doing! It is really unique and fresh (I’m submitting it to Reddit). If you are looking for some other interesting food combos that are fresh, mostly raw, and healthy, check out Mark Sisson’s site above (one example: mango and avocado and grapefruit). (Not listing it in comment ‘cuz I hate to be spammy, but it really is a great list of food combos worth checking out.)

    Cheers! :)
